May is a month of many celebrations – Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and who could forget - Pimento month, which gives a nod to the little red pepper most often associated with green olives and martinis.

Interstate Bakeries, the maker of Wonder Bread in San Diego, is closing its doors in October because Wonder Bread is not cheap nor is it good for you like whole wheat. Also people’s tastes are changing and they rather eat artisan breads (for the same price).

I guess there’s nothing more patriotic than Twinkies except perhaps Wonder Bread.

Just got back from a weekend getaway to nearby Auburn, Indiana to visit their world-class Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. 
These classic cars are from the 20’s and 30’s and were favorites of movie stars and royalty — about the only ones who could afford them during the depression era.
