Raise your hand if you attended the Edible Baja Arizona launch party last Saturday. What a happening crowd! What a beautiful publication! The event was held at MOCA which is an amazing venue (my first time). About a half dozen food trucks seduced the hungry throng and a band kicked out some good rhythms.
Jared McKinley who is the associate publisher of Edible Baja Arizona is giving three presentations on the Art of Backyard Food Production at MOCA. Here’s the schedule:
June 15 – Part I – Gardening
The class will focus on growing food in the backyard–organic fruit and vegetable gardening
June 22 – Part II – Home Fermentation
Fermented foods are totally in vogue for health reasons. This class focuses on hands-on instruction for kombucha, kefir, and sourdough starter.
June 29 – Part III – Animal Husbandry & Bees
Intro to raising animals and bees in urban/surburban areas, laws, and parameters.
All classes begin at 5 pm. The cost is free for MOCA members; $5/non-members.
MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) is located at 265 S. Church Avenue
