
Dumplings in Homemade Chicken Soup
This dumpling recipe is made with Cream of Wheat. I wrote this down as my mother-in-law made it from memory, years ago. It is simple and quick. I love the texture in my mouth as I bite down on a firm dumpling that is saturated with broth and flavor. You can see dumplings in soup photo here
Easy Dumplings Recipe
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 c. water
- salt to taste
- 1/4 t. baking powder
- 1/4 c. flour
- add Cream of Wheat to desired consistency (anywhere from 1/2 c to 3/4 c.)
I make mine the consistency between thick pancake batter and cookie dough – enough so it holds its shape when scooped out of the bowl with a spoon. Add to broth and simmer for 1/2 hour.
