Edible gold leaf? What will they think of next?

In Tucson I have seen edible gold sprinkles in some high priced margarita served at the 5-diamond Loews Resort & Spa. I've only seen in on the menu.

There is also a local sushi place that when you order the best sushi platter in the house, it's sprinkled with edible gold.

A nice touch.

I wonder how edible gold would hold up if you froze it in miniature ice cubes or those heart shaped ice cube trays for individual clear drinks.

Hmm, the possibilities are endless.
