Torturing cows do not cause "mad cow disease". The latest beef recall was not from mad cow disease and yes they were downer cows but it wasn't from Bovine Spongiform Ecephalopathy. When cattle are hauled around the country they get worn out. Cattle that are sent to slaughter are generally sent because they are just to old to reproduce or work efficiently. So of course they would be falling down. I watched the video and found that terrible. But what i'm wondering is why would you be standing on the outside of the trailer proding a cow out of the trailer. So what i'm suggesting is.. is it staged??

Morgan,
I'm not a vegetarian, not even close.
You're entitled to your opinion but if things were perfect there would be no recalls, no e.coli or food poisoning outbreaks, no torturing cows into the food supply which causes mad cow. All these events continue to happen even with the "USDA working their butts off"

Ok, this is not nasty. People have been eating beef for years! It really irritates me when vegetarians go on a rampage when they have no idea what they are talking about. Vaccinations don't hurt humans, neither does anything that these slaughterhouses are doing. If it was unsafe, it wouldn't be done. The USDA works their butts off to keep everyone from getting sick, and all everyone does is critises them. If you don't want to eat meat thats fine, but keep your mouth shut!
