Dog Food: Homemade Gourmet Dog Food Cookbook
Published by Karyn Zoldan April 5th, 2007 in Gourmet Dog Food, Recipes. You are probably already a love slave to your dog but with the current dog food recall going, Fido or Lassie may think it’s about time to make them a gourmet home cooked meal.
Here is a recipe from Let Them Eat Cookies, a greyt cookbook for all great dogs by Rissa Miller and Nathaniel Corn (permission granted to post-thank you). Proceeds from the cookbook is donated to greyhound rescue in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Gobbler Stew - Maybe your dog will share it with you.
3 to 4 pounds turkey meat, chopped
1 16 oz can whole cranberry sauce
1 cup water or turkey/chicken broth (low sodium)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
2-3 large peeled and cubed sweet potatoes
1 cup chopped green beans
Add all ingredients (except green beans) to a slow cooker and cook covered 3 to 4 hours on low. One hour before serving, add green beans. When meat is cooked through and potatoes are soft, serve warm or cooled to your adoring pet.
