Coffee: Love / Hate Relationship with Starbucks

A memo written by Howard Schultz, former CEO / visionary of Starbucks, surfaced on the web via starbucksgossip.com blog. In the memo, Schultz urges upper level management to remember the Starbucks’ roots of what made the chain coffee-drinker friendly such as the aroma and the baristas and not to dilute the Starbucks experience.

Actually, my favorite little coffee shop is a local cafe here in Riverside called Sips. Great coffee (my favorite is the Light Mocha Frappachino in the summer, Spiced Chai in the winter). What with the free Internet access as well, it can’t be beat.
