Published by Karyn Zoldan February 18th, 2007 in Arizona, Food Events, Food Organizations, Healthy Lifestyle, Tucson. You’re invited to join Slow Food Tucson on Saturday, March 10, 10:45 a.m. at the University of Arizona’s Controlled Environment Agriculture Center for a tour of the greenhouses of the future and learn everything you ever wanted to know about hydroponic farming and tomatoes.
The tour and talk will be followed by lunch at Acacia Restaurant located at St. Philip’s Plaza on River and Campbell just a three minute drive from the greenhouses.
Chef Albert Hall and staff will serve a tomato-inspired lunch with such delights as his famous roasted tomato soup (mmm good!), tomatoes and hand-pulled mozzarella, tomato and basil sorbet, and other delights. Acacia was recently awarded four diamonds by the AAA.
The cost is $30 a person for members and $40 a person for non-members. Please RSVP-ASAP since the space is limited. Contact Barry infuso at 520-290-1355 to reserve, pre-pay, and get directions to greenhouse. Space is limited.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet other people who are also interested in hydroponic farming and delicious gourmet food.
