Naples (Florida) Winter Wine Festival Raises Millions for Charities

This past weekend was the Naples (Florida) Winter Wine Festival. If you’re thinking a few hundred people milling around tasting wines — think again.
In order to participate, the going rate was $7,500 per couple! And that sum only gets you and yours in the door.
The highlight of the event is the live auction and this year, the auction surpassed all previous years in raising funds to the tune of almost $16.5 million.
How much is a walk-on part for the very popular (and sexy) Grey’s Anatomy worth? Well, for one lucky gal — try $460,000.
One very rich guy bid a cool $2 million on a 2007 Rolls-Royce convertible. Supposedly, his wife collects them. (I collect refrigerator magnets.)
You can read more about the rich and famous at the Naples Wine Festival in the Naples News.
I went to the Winter Wine Festival a couple of years ago and it was an absolutely magnificent experience. I highly recommend going if you have the opportunity. It is truly an fabulous experience.
