Today I went out to lunch and we sat at the bar because the restaurant was jammed. I actually like to sit at the bar especially when I can watch the bartender work.

We were absolutely intrigued when he poured Guinness into a champagne flute then topped it with champagne.

Before I could open my big inquisitive mouth, the bartender looked up (he had gorgeous gray eyes) and said, “black velvet.”

He put two on a tray and the waiter whisked them away. My friend and I wondered who ordered them but before turning around we made some guesses.

We didn’t think two guys would order it but thought perhaps two women might especially 20-something women. Finally we turned around and searched the crowd and noticed that a 40-something man and a 30-something woman drank the black velvets amongst a few other people at the table drinking red and white wine.
