Food glorious food flashes across cinemascope. What better medium to satisfy our visual and gustatory senses.

If you’re anywhere near Tucson or feel like traveling there during the dead of winter, you can enjoy temperate climes and a weekend of food and film at the second annual Slow Food Film Festival.

Close your eyes and think about chocolately moles before watching sensual Johnny Depp get it on with that French tart, Juliette Binoche during one of the most delicious films, Chocolat. Munch on chocolate-covered popcorn during the movie and everything will be right with the world at least for that one night.

On Saturday start with brunch at J-Bar prepared by Tucson’s one-named wonder Janos and a light supper at Acacia’s at St. Philips Plaza, a four-diamond restaurant. View independent flicks and the luscious Babette’s Feast.

Sunday ends with brunch at Sakura Restaurant East and screening of Tampopo, a Japanese noodle Western comedy of sexy proportions.
