THE TOAST – Jan 28
Join SAACA as they kick off the 2018 SAVOR Southern Arizona Food & Wine Festival week events with a celebratory TOAST to honor those who have dedicated their efforts to building a thriving, diverse and rich culinary legacy in our community. THE TOAST will celebrate a distinguished individual whose body of work exemplifies support and dedication to advancing the Southern Arizona Culinary scene. And that person is Don Luria, former owner of Café Terra Cotta. With a dedicated passion for community, culinary arts and giving back, Don has served on over 25 area non-profit Boards, and is fully committed to moving Southern Arizona forward. More info
SWEET CHARITY – Jan 30
The 5th annual Sweet Charity event features some of the most innovative, creative and sweet chefs in Tucson as well as wine and beer pairing. Up to 10 pastry chefs, mixologists and culinary artists will participate. All proceeds from the event go directly to support SAACA’s Veterans Art Therapy Program, as well as Arts Education Outreach. CARNIVAL – Feb 1
Members of the Gastronomic Union of Tucson (GUT) will participate in CARNIVAL at the Rialto Theatre, on Thursday, February 1 from 6-9pm. The Mardi Gras themed event will benefit the Rialto Theatre and SAACA ‘s (Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance) Creative Arts Therapy Programming. Guests at the event will enjoy Cajun/Creole and Brazilian Carnival cuisine prepared by local GUT Chefs, as well as beer sampling, live music and entertainment. Chefs are from Kingfisher, Parish, Downtown Kitchen and Cocktails, Dante’s Fire, Rocco’s Pizzeria and many more. The cost is $45/pp. Get tickets
SAVOR FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL – Feb 3
This is the granddaddy of all of Tucson’s food festivals held at the beautiful Tucson Botanical Gardens. Featuring over 75 of the region’s finest chefs, wineries, breweries, local foods and restaurants highlighting exceptional menu tastings.
