Zinburger Happy Hour – You Had Me with Sloppy Joe’s

I don’t know what it is about sloppy joe’s but I crave that hot mess frequently, especially when the weather turns cold. When I was a growing up (many decades ago), my mother made sloppy joe’s every Monday night served on white bread buns and she made her own fries too. Throw in a few pickles and that was our meal…a meal to be remembered.

Enter Zinburger’s daily happy hour from 3 to 6 pm. There are sloppy joe’s on the menu and I am happy. Throw in a few pickles and some fries and all is right with the world (even when it’s not). My doctor told me to eat less red meat and I’m telling him — but Zin made sloppy joes!

Of course there are other filling items on the happy hour menu like cheeseburgers, the traditional Zinburger, jalapeno poppers and fried chicken sandwiches.

And then there’s the wedge salad made with iceberg lettuce. This salad gives iceberg a good name. We all have to eat more veggies and potatoes don’t count but almost everyone raves about the sweet potato fries or regular fries (well done with the skins on) just the way I like it.

And if you have room for a milkshake (we didn’t) by all means indulge. Our server recommended the salted caramel but you can opt for $6 cocktails or half price glasses of wine.

Zinburger has two locations in Tucson –River/Campbell and Grant/Wilmot. Be Zin-full!
