Special Cupcake for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery and Bistro have created a special cupcake — pink vanilla cake, strawberry filling, strawberry buttercream with fondant topping available all month long. Arizona Wine Growers Association presents Arizona Farm wineries for wine tasting and sale in conjunction with this Festival. Enjoy wines, art, food and music under the trees. Wineries include Page Springs Cellars, Arizona Stronghold Winery, Coronado Vineyards, Golden Rule Winery, Su Vino Winery and Wilhelm Family Vineyards. Patagonia is beautiful any time of the year but October is surely to be spectacular.

Presented by Vegan Logic…thinking about going vegan or wanting to learn how to maximize your diet for a healthier you? Check out this free presentation and Q&A session presented by Kerry Graff, MD and J. Morris Hicks, prominent vegan authors. Oct 24 – Oysterfest 2015 at Kingfisher Bar & Grill
Oyster fans won’t want to miss the 6th annual Oysterfest where you can enjoy an array of fresh oysters and other delectable dishes like Oyster Stew, Baked Oysters, Fried Oysters, Clam Chowder and more. A team of shuckers (aw shucks), set up in a tent in the front parking lot, will offer over a dozen different varieties of oysters on the half-shell from the Pacific, Pacific Northwest, Gulf, mid and north Atlantic as well as some unique varieties from the East Coast. Maynards Kitchen has partnered with the UA College of Social & Behavioral Sciences Downtown Lecture Series on Immortality to bring a one-of-a-kind three-course dinner prepared exclusively by Executive Chef Michael Byrer to honor the immortal being. Tickets are limited, as this is also a fundraiser for the college, and available for purchase online or at Maynards for $65++ per person. Guest of honor that evening is Jerrod Hogle, nationally-recognized scholar on the immortality of the mythic vampire. Oct 28 – Howl-o-Ween Yappy Hour
Canines and their human companions are invited to attend the first-ever Howl-o-Ween Yappy Hour at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. This is a special celebration for desert dogs from 5 to 7 PM. Participating pets are encouraged to don Halloween costumes for the all-ages event, which will feature prizes for “Most Original Costume,” “Best Owner/Dog Duo,” “Cutest Costume,” “Scariest/Spookiest Costume,” and the prestigious “Best Overall Costume.”
An array of food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the celebration, as the Ritz-Carlton Roadrunner Food Truck will be on hand to serve casual bites and beverages. Hand-crafted dog biscuits and flavored waters will be available for the dogs, while the resort’s Azura Lawn will provide a comfortable gathering spot for pets as well as their people.
