Good thing the researcher was bitten by a tick or else this discovery would have never been made. Read the comments as most of the people who are highly allergic to beef have been bitten by ticks. Geez, who knew?  I have to wonder if the problem crosses over to dogs as many dogs cannot eat beef.

Cantaloupes in 20 states are a big salmonella no no
Indiana grown cantaloupes sicken 141 people, 31 are hospitalized, and 2 are dead in Kentucky. What is it with cantaloupe and salmonella? Last year killer cantaloupes from Colorado were the problem.

Missa Bay, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ready Pac Foods, Inc., of Swedesboro, New Jersey is voluntarily recalling a total of 293,488 cases and 296,224 individually distributed units of fruit, vegetable, and sandwich products containing apples because they contain diced or sliced apples which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
