Tucson Dining Event – Sizzling Women:  The Women Chefs of Tucson

Where:           Tucson Marriott University Park, 880 E. Second Street, (Second & Tyndall) Tucson, AZ   85719

When:             Sunday, November 13, 4 to 7:30 pm

What:             A premiere culinary dine-around experience, showcasing the creations of the female talent  in  Tucson & So.AZ

Tickets:           $25 in advance through the American Culinary Federation of Southern Arizona:

Notes:             This event benefits culinary students’ scholarship funds and the Careers through Culinary Arts Programs (C-CAP)

Matt Russell from OntheMenuLIVE will serve as the MC.

Sizzling Women is a showcase of the finest women chefs, restaurateurs and caterers in Tucson and Southern Arizona. They will be preparing signature dishes for sampling while the participants enjoy live music from Bruce Halper and libations served by the Tucson Marriott.

Participating chefs include, but are not limited to:   Jessica Kraus-Planet of the Crepes owner and chef, Carlotta Flores-El Charro owner and chef, Gina Stock-Janos pastry chef, Kim Kamman-Sapphire Catering owner and chef.

Tucson Lifestyle Magazine is featuring several chefs in their November issue.

Local culinary students will be shadowing some of the featured chefs as part of the award for competitions leading up to Sizzling Women and all attendees will be able to meet and mingle with these extraordinary talents, including the Tucson Culinary Festival’s Iron Chefs of Tucson.

All proceeds will go toward scholarship funds for local culinary students and the Careers through Culinary Arts Program, or C-CAP, which works with public schools across the nation to prepare high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry. A national nonprofit, C-CAP provides teacher training, scholarships, cooking competitions, job shadows, training and internships, college and career advising, and product and equipment donations.
