A celebration of all things Apple Pie! Start your day with the famous “All-You-Can Eat” pancake with apple pie syrup breakfast, served both mornings from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Enjoy free samples of scrumptious apple pies! Indulge in homemade Apple Crumb Pie ice cream! Apple-smoked burger lunches are served 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (those burgers are mighty good). Reminisce during complimentary wagon rides to the orchard for pick-your-own apples.
The Apple Pie Baking contest will be held Saturday, Sept. 17. The local celebrity and pie-loving judges include Circle of Food Blogger, Karyn Zoldan; Contributing Dining Editor of Tucson Guide, Edie Jarolim; Tucson Foodie Blogger, Adam Lehrman; and Freelance Food Writer for Tucson Weekly, Rita Connelly.
KZ: I’m thrilled to be a judge.
All pie entries must be submitted by 1 p.m. at Apple Annie’s Orchard and judging begins at 2 p.m. Bring a copy of your recipe.
Apple Annie’s gift certificates of $100, $75 and $50 will be awarded to top three pies! ”My-Oh-My Apple Pie“ is a great way to celebrate the beginning of fall. Please note: Willcox is 8 to 10-degrees cooler than Tucson!
Crafters from around Arizona will be selling beautiful handmade crafts from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day (plus Apple Annie’s gift shops have some really unusual items you won’t find at Bed, Bath, and Beyond).
A portion of the proceeds from My-Oh-My Apple Pie Weekend will benefit the Southern Arizona Lupus Foundation, March of Dimes, and Andrea’s Closet. Over the past nine years Apple Annie’s have donated over $68,000 to these great organizations.
