The next phone application I am going to review is called Wine Search. This app is available for the I-Phone and is very handy when going out to eat.

If you are like me, you do not like to get ripped off when buying anything. I always try to compare prices, see if coupons are available and more just to get the most bang for my buck.

With this app, you will have a piece of mind when ordering wines at restaurants and wine bars. The way this app works is when you get to a restaurant, you can look up the wines on their list to see what the retail price per bottle is. Now why would that be important?…because is it really worth paying $25 over retail price in the restaurant for that bottle of wine?

I personally would never need this application because when I go out to eat with my mom, she already does this for me (since she works in the industry and is knowledgeable), but for everyone else, I find this app really important.

Now if you want to enjoy a bottle of wine and don’t care how much it is, it’s no use to you… but most of the time for most people it matters.

From my personal experiences, I have found that restaurants will generally mark up the cheaper bottles of wine a lot more than the expensive bottles of wine so generally if you are willing to pay $5 to $10 more for the bottle, you will be getting a significantly better bottle of wine.

Also, this app will help you recognize which restaurants you can actually order a drink from without getting totally ripped off for.

This app is also very functional because it also tells you the markup rate to see how much you are really getting overcharged without having to calculate anything yourself.

However, if you do not drink wine, there is no use for this app.

Price: $1.99
