I love the summer because with the summer comes nice weather and BBQ food. In Ohio, the only good time to cook BBQ food is in the summer due to the nasty weather, snow and rain. Finally the weather is getting nicer and I am ready to get out my grill and start off the season right.

Last weekend to kick off the nice weather, I cooked a nice steak with potatoes and veggies on the grill. It was really good, but I wanted to share a couple of my favorite grill recipes below.

1. Chicken Kabobs

For this, I put chicken, pineapple chucks, red and green pepper, and onion on the kabob and then grill it. If you season the chicken ahead of time, the kabobs taste a lot better. Also, soak the wood sticks in water before putting them on the grill so they do not burn.

2. Foil Dinner

This is an old time favorite that has been made on campgrounds for awhile. It is not gourmet, but it tastes really good and is easy to make. For this recipe, you start with a large piece of foil. On the foil, put carrots, onion, celery, and other vegetables along with cut up potato pieces, and hamburger meat. Before wrapping up this meal, add spices and Italian seasoning for flavoring. Cook on the campfire or grill for 15 to 20 minutes (or until cooked throughout).
