Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

Cinco de Mayo at Kalahari

Wednesday May 4th and Thursday May 5th, 5 of my friends and I went to Kalahari to celebrate the end of the semester and of course Cinco de Mayo. In case you don’t know what Kalahari is, it is an indoor water park in Sandusky. This place is amazing and not only offers a wide variety of slides and pools in the water park, but also mini golf, bowling, an arcade, numerous restaurants, and shopping on site. This resort is a great experience, but usually I can NOT afford it. Without a package, it usually costs about $250 to$300 a night for the room and water park passes for the family.

For our celebration, Kalahari was running a Cinco de Mayo special all week for $155 for the deal. In this special, we got a room for 5 people, 5 water park passes for Wednesday and Thursday, a large pizza to share and 5 sodas in the water park, an order of wings, nachos and 5 beers at The Reserve Restaurant. On top of this, we also got money to the arcade and 5 free mini golf passes.

Overall, this was a great deal and so much fun to celebrate and relax with friends. I would come back to Kalahari for this deal in a second and I will continue to look for more specials on their website.
