Yesterday, I made a two and a half hour drive down to Columbus, OH with 15 of my sisters to go to Alpha Chi Omega State Day 2011. This event was for all six chapters of Alpha Chi in the state of Ohio. Our Providence Collegiate Chair (PCC) Ange Dudek, was in charge of putting the event together, and she did a wonderful job.
The event started at noon when all the sisters checked in. Upon arrival, we were all given a beautifully decorated name tag and a very cute state day t-shirt, and a seating arrangement. There were over 20 tables full of 10 women per table for this event.
The tables were split up by positions so I had the pleasure of sitting with all the other chapter presidents. After introductions and mingling, we were served lunch.
The lunch was very well planned out and had a full wait staff to serve us. To start, we were given a side salad and rolls. After the starters, we were served lemon button chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus. To finish, we were all given either cheesecake or chocolate cake. For being lunch for over 200 guests, it was very very good and I applaud Ange in all her hard work.
After lunch, all the presidents gave a small speech, a sister from nationals spoke, and even one of our national consultants that works with our Ohio chapters.
Overall, the event was a great experience and a lot of fun….even though I was in the car the entire Sunday when it was 80 degrees outside L Still, it was worth the trip and experience!
