I love pasta with meatballs but hamburger can be fattening even if you purchase the lean meat. Instead of using hamburger to make the meatballs, I use a recipe my mom and I have been making for years. This recipe is like a traditional meat ball, but uses ground turkey to make it healthier. Once you add the other ingredients, it is hard to tell it is even turkey and when I cooked it last week I fooled my boyfriend into thinking it was regular hamburger.
Here are the ingredients…
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- Parmesan cheese
- Oregano and Italian seasoning
- 1 egg
- Bread Crumbs (small amount depending on texture)
To make these, you simply mix all the ingredients together to form a hard mixture and roll into balls. Put a little olive oil in a sauté pan and cook the meatballs for about 10 minutes until they are fully cooked. Once they are done, you can add them to your sauce and continue to heat until the pasta is ready.
This recipe is very simple but comes out very tasty!
