There is a new Facebook community recently established in support of Chef Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution that is targeted to Southern Arizona families. Local cooking show hosts Haile and Nia Thomas were inspired after watching Chef Oliver’s Food Revolution on television and told their mommy they wanted to do something “big” like that in their community, so when the opportunity to join the movement presented itself, the Thomas family signed on.
Through their page, Arizona Kids Food Revolution – the Thomas’s hope to engages families to become more involved in planning, shopping and helping to cook family meals. The girls will continue to present fun and inspiring video cooking web-episodes, and help their mom to coordinate and promote community events and activities.
The group also looks forward to partnering with other groups, individuals, farms, and organizations with a similar mission to inspire kids and families to eat healthfully and get active.
The Thomas family is inviting southern Arizona families to “like” the page and help to share, connect, and inspire others with your personal stories, because like Oliver, they believe that eating well starts with cooking from scratch and that together, we can make healthy eating and cooking a priority again, and bring fresh food back into our homes, schools, and community.
