The Melting Pot Experience… at Home

I love going to the Melting Pot because it is such a fun time, but I usually never go because of the price. The food is pretty good, but my favorite part is the dessert. I do like all their cheese fondue choices along with meat and veggies, but I am not willing to pay that price when I can make better food at home. But like I said, the chocolate fondue is amazing. At the restaurant, it costs about $15 or $20 for dessert which isn’t too bad, but I decided to go and try to make it at home on my own.

When we made everything, my friend Amanda and I chipped in together to buy all the ingredients. For the chocolate fondue, we kept it very simple and just bought milk chocolate. The milk chocolate fondue was simple, but since we had so many dippers, it was still amazing. If you are feeling adventurous, you can try either dark chocolate or white chocolate. To add to this creation, some possible ingredients to mix in the chocolate include cookies and cream with Oreos, caramel, or nuts. All of these are great in the chocolate mixture fondue. To cook the chocolate fondue, you can use a double boiler on your stove. Put water in the pan and put the small pan on top to melt the chocolate.

For the dippers of the fondue, we bought just about everything. We used pineapple, strawberries, bananas, pound cake, brownies, graham crackers and cherries. It was delicious!! The best part about this evening of fondue was the fun we had making everything. It was a great time with my friends and a real treat. It was also nice because we did not spend a lot of money, and had tons of leftover fruit and desserts. This fondue is great for a party and it will impress others if you make it. Good luck and have fun!
