Tucson–Here are some simple ways to help the hungry being assisted by the Primavera Foundation this Christmas.

According to Jenny Cowan, volunteer and in-kind donation coordinator:

We have two styles of meals in December and need the help of volunteers for each type.  Volunteers can choose the style that best fits their interests and schedule.

38 family food boxes will be needed.  Each box will go to one of the families living in our transitional apartments or our emergency shelter.  The box should include items like: box(es) of stuffing, several cans of veggies, bag of potatoes, gallon(s) of apple juice or cider, and supermarket gift card which goes towards the purchase of fresh foods such as pie, turkey or ham.

Family size will vary, so please call Jenny at 623-5111 x 102 to sign up for the boxes you would like to bring.
Jenny will give you details on the various sizes when you call.

Three other Primavera locations will need all meal fixings to be dropped off potluck style. You don’t need to stay and serve.  Drop off times will vary, depending on location, so call Jenny to sign up.

This seems like an easy way to help others. A small group of friends can either put together a food box or drop off some hot dishes.
