Tucson restaurant news

Tucson’s first California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) restaurant officially opens Monday November 22 at the south end of the Tucson Mall next to H&M.

When I lived in Los Angeles more than a decade ago, I used to like CPK. I favored their BBQ chopped salad.

On Tuesday, November 30, CPK gives back to the local community by donating 100 percent of dine-in pizza sales to the Diamond Children’s Medical Center.

The restaurant, started in 1985 by two attorneys who were tired of litigating, saw a need for a different style of pizza. There are currently 260 CPKs in 32 states and eleven foreign countries. They are the folks who first introduced the Thai BBQ pizza.

Look like the Tucson Mall will be the battlefield of the Cheesecake Factory vs. California Pizza Kitchen. Both have cheesecake and pizzas on their menus and so much more.

You can view the menu here. There’s also a gluten-free menu.
