Too Hot to Cook?
According to Wendy Gauthier, an average meal when you dine out for dinner costs $15 to $24 per person. Now you can dine at home for $20 a meal and beat the kitchen heat! Between now and Oct. 1, you can purchase five nights of dinners for two people with sides for $200. The meals are prepared by Chef Chic. (You can purchase meals individually.) Why fire up the kitchen when you are minutes away from a fabulous meal? The menu will be posted every Wednesday by 10 a.m. and orders must be in by Friday at 5 p.m. Pickups will be available the following Monday between 3 and 6 p.m. or deliveries will be made for a $10 fee. The Hall Baskerville Connection
Chef Albert Hall just hired Odell Baskerville to be executive chef at Acacia. As Hall’s interests have expanded to include the Tohono Chul Tea Room, the Marketplace at Acacia and in September, the Garden Cafe at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, Chef Baskerville will be integral to maintaining the high standards that Albert has set at Acacia and his other locations. Baskerville was Executive Chef at the award-winning Arizona Inn for ten years and has been teaching culinary skills at the Art Institute for the past year.
For the first time in nearly 100 years, air conditioning (HVAC) has come to the 40 rooms at Hotel Congress! You are invited for Christmas in July which will feature a sneak preview of the newly cooled rooms – many also featuring new artwork as well, along with food and beverages and a special appearance made by Summer Santa who will kick off the annual diaper drive. Your generous donation to the Community Food Bank is the price of admission on July 30 at 7 p.m.
