If you have ever heard of this store, you know the great things offered here! Ikea is a home shopping superstore. This store is Swedish based, but has everything you need to furnish your home, and also decorate.

My friends and I were able to take a trip to Pittsburg last week to visit this wonderful store. Out of the 4 of us that went,  2 of us were looking for college furniture and decorations, and the other 2 were just along to look around. All 4 of us had a lot of fun.

The fun about this store is not only the size, but the setup. You start off at the top where you walk through a giant show room made up of furniture and displays to gives ideas for your house. After making your way through the top, you go downstairs to the warehouse where you can purchase all the furniture and decorations. Everything is very easy and organized and they also have an awesome kitchen section.

I was able to get dinner glasses for 59 cents each and a huge wok for 4.99

This store also has a restaurant with a patio for hungry shoppers. I have never been to the cafe, but they are known for having great Swedish food and they also serve their famous meatballs.

  1. The 3 times we’ve been to IKEA (closest one is 4.5 hours so it’s always a bit of a trek and an event) we start in the morning when they open and by the time we make it through the showrooms it’s the perfect time for a light lunch in the cafe. The prices are very good and the quality is better than you average cafeteria-style restaurant. Do not skip dessert!

  2. IKEA is the mecca for reasonably priced modern furniture. If you watch the decorating shows on TV there are lots of furniture and accessories from IKEA.

And the swedish meatballs are great for lunch!
