Who doesn’t like free?

National Doughnut Day or National Donut Day is always the first Friday in June.

According to Wikipedia, the traditional began in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the women who served donuts or doughnuts to the soldiers.

Whatever.

So, where can you get these free donuts?

Click here to find a participating Krispy Kreme store.  Dunkin’ Donuts ise also offering a free donut when you buy a beverage.

One caveat…it’s while supplies last.  I can see these puppies flying out there the door so early risers catch the carbs.

  1. Am I the only one who feels guilty accepting or asking for free things at stores? I always wonder what the catch is… (advertising and good press in this case, more than likely–not that we don’t give Krispy Kreme a good deal of business already 🙂

  2. Speaking of Dunkin’ Donuts for those of you who entered their create a donut contest — there is a winner – and her donut is ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO-NUT

Even I have to admit that’s clever.

Jennifer, I don’t think you have to feel guilty about accepting anything free especially at chain stores. In the case of KK, they’re hoping you buy a dozen donuts to take with you or some coffee or come back another time. For Dunkin’ you’re paying for the beverage and they probably hope you buy more and come back another time.

    Everybody wins!
