I am officially on summer vacation and it feels great! All I have to worry about is working, and I have no stress from school. But not only with summer comes a wonderful time to see my family and friends, but also an even easier way to stay in shape.
Everyday this week I have been outside doing something or another. Going to the park with my friends; taking my puppy to the park; taking a nice hike with my boyfriend Erik.. no matter what it is, summer is the time to always enjoy the weather. Being outside for me to enjoy the weather is not only fun, but it helps to keep in shape. On top of working out at home or at the gym, I have fun walking around the park. Now in the winter in Toledo, I would NOT have fun doing any of those things but that’s another great thing about summer 🙂
On top of all the additional exercise, I tend to eat a lot healthier in the summer too. Not only do I never seem as hungry because I am always active to keep my mind off boredom, but when I eat, I do not like the “heavy” winter meals I once enjoyed when it was cold outside. I tend to eat a lot more fresh vegetables (which is a lot to say since I already eat a lot), lots more fruit, because it is in season, and a lot lighter meals. Also, think about enjoying the summer day and coming home to a nice huge piece of chocolate fattening cake..NO.. that sounds gross to me. I would rather come home to Popsicles or some fresh fruit.
Summer is definitely putting me in a good mood and making my healthy lifestyle easier! What about you??
