Massimo Tenino, Chef/Owner of Tavolino Ristorante is pleased to announce the opening of the new location of his award winning restaurant.
The move coincides with the celebration of seven successful years at the original location 7090 N Oracle Road) which will close on April 10. The staff will relocate to the new location at Skyline and Campbell (formerly Vintabla) to prepare for the grand opening on Monday, April 19. The new space has been undergoing some remodeling to adapt to Chef Tenino’s concept, “ I have always wanted to move to a larger space but it was very important to me that we not loose the intimate neighborhood Trattoria feeling that we have created at Tavolino. I am very pleased with the way everything is working out and I hope our guests will be too.”
To that end, a new entrance has been added, beautiful dark wood floors and several brick walls have been added to create a more intimate, inviting space. New high backed comfortable booths define the areas between the bar and the dining room and also act as a screen to the open kitchen. The private dining room that opens onto a private patio area is a great space for wine dinners and special events and the “Chefs Table” near the kitchen that seats 8 will be available to guests who would like a more private intimate dinner specially created for them. “I believe that my guests will be pleased with our new home in every way – I look forward to welcoming them” said Chef Tenino.
Menu offerings will still feature the same wonderful cuisine including fresh salads, house-made to order pastas, meats, seafood and traditional desserts on the menu. The wine list will also continue to offer an outstanding selection of Italian classics, and boutique offerings with many by the glass. The new larger space has inspired Chef Tenino to include some additional specialty dishes including open fire rotisserie meats cooked in the Tuscan style over an open fire in the new brasserie fireplace; Tavolino signature pizzas will now be available for both lunch and dinner fresh from the wood burning pizza oven; and the addition of a salumeria (Italian meat market) will feature authentic Italian cured meats (salumi) including sausages, Mortadella, Prosciutto etc. sliced to order as an antipasto or to go.
Chef Massimo Tenino moved to the U.S. 13 years ago from Italy where he learned the art of Italian cooking from his mother and grandmother. He spent five years cooking in Los Angeles, then five more in San Francisco, before moving to Tucson and opening Tavolino in 2003. Tavolino Ristorante is located at 2890 E. Skyline Drive in Plaza Colonial located on the southwest corner of Skyline Road and Campbell Avenue. Tavolino is open Monday through Saturday for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
