Good Housekeeping, the leading women’s service magazine, is using its triple-test-recipe experience to challenge readers to a heart-healthy competition. A healthy diet is one of the best weapons to battle cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S. In collaboration with the American Heart Association, Good Housekeeping is encouraging readers to test their culinary skills in “Cook Your Heart Out.” The chef with the best nutritious and tasty recipe will receive $125,000 from Good Housekeeping.
Recipes can be submitted in one of six culinary categories: Fast and Easy, Elegant Entertaining, Family-Friendly, Ethnic Favorites, Occasional Treats, and Starters. After all the entries are reviewed in the Good Housekeeping Test Kitchens, three finalists from each of the six categories will be flown to New York City, August 27 – 30, to prepare their recipes for a panel of noted chefs and judges. The chef with the best nutritious and tasty recipe will receive $125,000 and one runner-up in each category will win $5,000.
