Tucson restaurant news – Sonoran hot dogs, paella, cheesecake, Tucson blogging
Sonoran Hot Dog Wars-LOCATION VENUE CHANGE a/o Jan. 29. According to the Travel Channel, the location for the hot dog turf war is at El Guero Canelo NOT BK’s.
El Guero Canelo, 5201 S. 12th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706, (520) 295-9005
I can’t help but hum a few bars of the Westside Story sharks vs. jets song as I write this…”when you’re a jet, you’re a jet all the way from your first cigarette to your last dying day…” But back to hot dogs. Who’s on first? BK Hot Dogs or El Guero Canelo? Reality TV wants to know and they’re here in Tucson to film the Sonoran Hot Dog wars. That’s not the name of the show because the show has no name yet. Concept, yes; title, no.
Anyway you can be part of it; they want live Tucsonans present. Read this article to find out more. (but the location is not correct)
Judges are hush hush so I cannot reveal.
And if you don’t know what a Sonoran hot dog is, you must try one but first read what makes them special.
Please comment if you have more info or will be a contestant.
Paella at Pastiche
Treat yourself to classic Spanish paella at Pastiche every Sunday night. You can share or hog the entire plate ($20) to yourself.
It opens at the Tucson Mall (facing Wetmore) on Feb. 4.
Yesterday, myself and some other Tucson bloggers were invited to be panelists at the Tucson PRSA luncheon meeting at the Arizona Inn. We represented food blogging – hello to Tucson Food Dude – it was a pleasure to meet you F2F, visual arts blogging from TuScene, Examiner.com, Tucson Citizen (my other blog stomping grounds), and the very newest media in town – Tucson Sentinel.
