Tucson restaurant news
If you’re just waking up from a long snooze and thinking it’s Christmas Eve day and you need to go Christmas shopping — oy vey. You remind me an ex boyfriend. Everything was always last minute.
No matter what city you’re in, there are always gift cards or gift certificates. I think these are the best inventions ever — because the recipient can get what they want.
Here are a few of my favorite places for last minute gifts:
If you’re in Tucson, here are some places to pick some up – most of the Tucson Originals restaurants are open tomorrow for some time or through dinner. Other restaurants also have gift cards.
I love to receive Trader Joe’s gift cards plus all big box chain super markets have gift cards and those would be equally as welcome, as well as, gift certificates from Antigone’s Book Store and Clues Unlimited mystery book store and tea from Seven Cups.
Help the Horses
Visit the merchants on 4th Avenue in particular Silver Sea Jewelry & Gifts if you want to buy one-of-a-kind coil beaded bracelets for only $20 to help Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary. This amazing charity rescues horses from the Premarin “pee line” as well as other abused horses. All bracelet sales during the month of December go directly to this charity. Silver Sea is open to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve Wine Tasting
Kudos to Yvonne at CataVinos Wines, one of my favorite places, as she is open Christmas Eve and December 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. for a Big & Bold wine tasting as not everyone will be at home opening presents or decorating the tree.
Stop by to taste seven wines (not the usual six). There are two bold whites, a merlot, a cabernet, two blends, and a big old port. Tasting costs $10 or $8 if you buy a bottle.
