Tucson event: Tucson After Dark
This almost sounds like a liquid asset fantasy: You sample eight different exotic cocktails from around the world and then choose your favorite for a full cocktail.
Consider the Singapore Sling – I think that was my first drink when I turned 21 — a long tall sip of wicked pinkness with the ubiquitous maraschino cherry at the bottom.
From Brazil, dance the bossa nova and make a toast for the 2012 Olympics to the Caipirinha (this is one of my favorite drinks and you can find it at JBar/Janos)
Be very proper with the Pimm’s Cup from England.
Then there’s everyone’s favorite from Cuba — the popular mojito. I think the mojito is the reason mint is no longer hard to find.
From Greece, savor Greek Matter Scatter with Ouzo. Hmmm, sounds like something from the Greek version of Alice in Wonderland. Ouzo is an acquired taste. Opa!
Get your balmy buzz on with Costa Rico’s Guaro Sour and Peru’s, Pisco Sour. Those are two spirits I have yet to indulge in.
Last but not least — viva la France’s Kir Normand. I know I like a bit of Kir in champagne but not sure about the Normand.
Along with cocktails, coffees and desserts with be served with a side of entertaining cultural performances from around the world.
