Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

Chewish Tucson: Cuisine Art, Teacher Appreciation

More Tucson restaurant news

Cuisine Art
What goes together better than food and art (okay maybe food and wine)? The Blue Raven Gallery has an exhibit entitled “cuisine art” running from now through July 11.  On Saturday, May 30, three local chefs will cook in the courtyard and provide a light repast for $20 which goes to benefit the Community Food Bank. Yep, art and food work together for goodwill.

Power Hour
Pop into any Magpies Pizza and leave with a take-and-bake pizza and get 20 percent off. Now that’s a good deal and an easy dinner.

Teachers and Restaurant Altruism
As a former teacher in both Los Angeles and Tucson, I support the efforts of giving special perks to teachers. About a dozen businesses are offering major discounts to more than 10,000 public, private, and charter schoolteachers throughout Pima County. Awesome! A large portion of the discounts are food-related with Magpies, El Charro Café, Metro Restaurants, Cup Café, Maynard’s Market and even restaurants at Loews Ventana Canyon are participating.
