Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

Chewish Tucson: VinTabla Grill closing May 16

From a press release…

Farewell to another Foothills restaurant

“Tucson, Ariz—-VinTabla Grill and Wine Shop will close Saturday, May 16 for the summer.    The combination of location, physical size and a troubled economy has taken its toll on the three year old restaurant. Operating partner, Heat Concepts LLC, intends to re-open in the future possibly in a smaller, more visible location.  Heat Concepts is evaluating other alternatives and options as well.

Partners, including Executive Chef Bruce Yim, General Manager Ward Mack and Master Sommelier Laura Williamson, will direct their energies to Dove Mountain Grill, opened in early 2009 at Tangerine Road and Dove Mountain Boulevard in Marana.

The new restaurant has done well – providing a neighborhood venue featuring modern comfort food in a welcoming environment.
Partner/Master Sommelier Laura Williamson is working on plans to relocate the wine shop division of VinTabla Grill to a more centrally located spot.

The uniqueness of the offerings featured at VinTabla Wine Shop is due to Williamson’s extensive relationships with small boutique wine makers around the world. She is able to offer many exclusive selections not available at other local wine shops.    Williamson is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of wine.    “My plan is to continue to offer the most accessible, unique wines at affordable prices showcased in an intimate tasting room setting.”

VinTabla would like to thank those that supported the excellent food and synergistic wine pairings throughout the last three years.  For those who appreciated the exceptional culinary and wine experiences, VinTabla looks forward to renewing its relationship in the future.”
