Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

Healthy Snack: No More Naked Popcorn

I love popcorn especially when it’s low cal and of the healthy variety.

I recently received an assortment of No More Naked Popcorn products. I decided to share them with some friends and get their honest feedback.

But first, a word about popcorn: Did you know that one cup of popped popcorn eaten plain only has 24 calories, 1 gram of protein, 6 grams of carbs, and 1 gram of fiber. And really, who can only eat one cup?

Air-popped popcorn is often my dinner along with a spray of olive oil and some grated cheese.

The No More Naked Popcorn people made it easier for me and gave me more variety too. I can use their microwave popcorn or their natural popcorn with my air popper. Then I spritz it with zero calorie Kernel Season’s butter flavored spritz and sprinkle with Kernel Season’s white cheddar popcorn seasoning which only has 2 calories per 1/4 tsp.

What I especially like about the butter spritzer is that it doesn’t have diacetyl. Diacetyl, a butter flavoring, is cancer causing.

Getting back to my friends…Angy said she really enjoyed her packet of microwave popcorn and the nacho popcorn seasoning gave the snack and interesting twist.

Lizzie’s friends raved about the kettle corn seasoning and felt the microwave popcorn was some of the best ever. She tried the ranch seasoning on steamed vegetables for a practically no cal addition.

I have also used the white cheddar seasoning on a baked potato and it was delicious and far lower in calories and saturated fat had I used real cheddar cheese.

You can pick up the Kernel’s Seasoning in many different flavors — Cajun, caramel, sour cream and onion, and a whole lot more. Check out the website to view the various flavors, recipes, locations where to buy, or buy online.
