Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

One of my chocoholic friends sent me to the website Max Brenner.

That’s a droll name for a website about chocolate but in the “about us” describes itself as a short fat bald man who has a penchant for chocolate including two chocolate stores in NYC and an online store.

If Milton Bradley ever updates the Monopoly board, one of the stores can be an upscale chocolate shop.

Check it out and click on the drinks as they look richly satisfying. Now I feel like making some hot chocolate but I have no milk and no desire to get in the car and go grocery shopping.  Being a slug wins over satisfying an indulgence.

Why is it that women over a certain age are so focused on chocolate? Just yesterday I was having a conversation with a friend over the various chocolate bars at Trader Joes. And in less than 24 hours, another friend sent several messages about chocolate items.

I’m particularly thrilled that many articles say that dark chocolate in moderation is healthy and a vital antioxidant.

What is it about chocolate that drives you to distraction?

  1. I think it’s the rich, creamy texture, which females find most attractive about chocolate. It’s sweet, and has a wholesome feel to it; it wraps around you like a good partner should. The mature women look for something that no man can provide; and find that missing something in chocolate. Well, that’s what I’m assuming…
