New & Ritzy

Cayton’s opened at the new Ritz Carlton in Dove Mountain. I am so tired of that stacked stone look – very reserved, very clubby. I guess if you can afford to pay $225 for a round of golf you would feel right at home here.

Year of the Ox – January 26

Chinese New Year starts January 26. My new favorite Chinese restaurant – Old Peking which recently reopened with new owners at 2522 E. Speedway Blvd will be open. I have eaten here twice already and the food has been very good (for Tucson). Although they are still using the old signage that says Mandarin & Szchwan, they Old Peking have more of a Cantonese slant and even egg foo yong is on the menu which is difficult to find.  (2522 E Speedway Blvd – 795-9811)
