I love tomato sauce. Frankly, it is one of those foods that I could eat every day and not get tired of. It is very healthy and a great way to get your veggies in for the day.
I came across a great website called “Behind the Burner” that has recipes and videos of chefs cooking them. This recipe for fresh tomato sauce from the Serafina Broadway restaurant in New York caught my eye. Be sure to watch the video. Love the owner’s accent!
The recipe is simple:
2 ripe tomatoes
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
4 1/2 to 5 oz. of pasta
3 or 4 julienned basil leaves
1 tablespoon parmesan
1 tablespoon of butter
I personally would not add the butter as it is a saturated fat and that is something to stay away from, but now you know why restaurant food tastes better.
