I eat a healthy snack every afternoon to get me through until dinner and I am always looking for something new to add to my arsenal. I recently had the opportunity to try Pure bars and they are great! What I immediately liked about them was that they were made from ingredients I could recognize and easily convert to a food group. In fact, the package does this for you, saying that one bar counts as 1.5 servings of fruit.
The ingredients for the Chocolate Brownie Pure Bar, my favorite, are as follows:
- Organic dates, organic walnuts, organic agave nectar, organic almonds, organic cashews, organic brown rice protein, organic cocoa, and that’s all!
Each 200 calorie bar is certified organic, vegan, raw and cold-processed, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, has 4-5 grams of fiber, 6-7 grams of protein, loaded with omega 3s, no refined sugar, no cholesterol or trans fats, no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or GMO’s, and low sodium.
Regardless of which of these attributes are important to you, you’ll surely like the fact that they are 100% delicious. I also tried their Cherry Cashew Bar and Cranberry Orange Bar. Other flavors include: Apple Cinnamon, Wild Blueberry, and ChocChip Trailmix.
I am not one to eat candy bars because of all the sugar, so this surely fits the bill as something healthy that I can take with me as a healthy energy boost when I am out and about meeting with customers or running errands.
