Now that the tomato industry is practically ruined, shoppers are getting the OK to return to buying tomatoes even though there never was one cause determined why over one thousand people got tomato salmonella food poisoning.
Now let’s turn to the humble but fiery jalapeno. Don’t eat them!
The FDA found a salmonella strain in Mexican grown jalapenos distributed by a Texas company.
But wait, there’s more. The FDA doesn’t know how and why this salmonella occurs so once again it’s a needle in a haystack.
If the FDA doesn’t know the cause; then they don’t know how to deter it from happening again. And so far, the tomato salmonella is a completely separate cause and effect.
Once again, it all boils down to eating locally grown produce from farmers markets and mom-and-pop farm stands.
Be careful about eating freshly made salsas…
