Chef Annette shared this healthy cooking tip with Circle of Food so we thought we’d share it with you.
Have you ever triedÂ the whole grain baking mix from Trader Joe’s? “I love it!” exclaims Chef Annette. “It’s a combination of whole wheat flour, corn meal, ground oats and more. It’s higher in complex carbohydrates which means it’s low glycemic.”
She made pancakes with it yesterday,but, as all chefs do, she altered the recipe along the way by grating a Fuji apple into the batter and then dusted it with a little powdered sugar, no butter and no syrup. She cut the recipe in half since the whole point was to eat less. She made three 8-inch pancakes.
She said that her neighbors love her.
