Losing Weight the Wrong Way:Sugarless Gum

A recent story just broke in the news about people who wanted to lose weight and did — but not without totally destroying their health and well-being.

Sugarless gum is filled with sorbitol, a calorie free sweetener in the poly-alcohol sugar family. Mannitol and xylitol are in the same family and are also used as laxatives.

(Be very careful not to let your pets get into any candy made with xylitol or sorbitol as they are fatal in pets.)

It turns out that sweeteners like sorbitol are ruining the health of people who unknowingly chew sugarless gum as a way to stave off hunger and some calories.

Read the article and take heed. People are getting severe diarrhea and creating life-long intestional problems.
