Where Local and Global Appetites Collide

Wine Oh! My Kingdom for a Tucson Wine Bar

Doesn’t it seem like the whole world is suddenly populated by wine bars?

The wine bar craze started about five years ago but it took awhile to get to Tucson and within the year, we seem to be inundated with them.

On one corner in the toney Foothills (Skyline & Campbell) there is VinTabla, Armitage Wine Lounge & Cafe (just opened) and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, which serves 100 wines by the glass. Less than two miles to the west is Wine Brothers and less than two miles to the south is 58 Degrees Bistro.

Of course there are more wine bars in Tucson but those are just a few within a small radius.

Lest, you not know where to go for tastings — a wonderful website called Local Wine Events emails you a weekly schedule of what’s going on winewise in many cities throughout the country. Just think if you’re traveling for business or pleasure and want to sample the wine wherever you go, Local Wine Events opens doors to probably hard to find venues.

All of a sudden, I’m thirsty…for an cold imported beer.
