Heart Health: Eat Your Fruits and Vegetables

Sorry, I don’t buy the absolutes. No, I’m neither a doctor nor a researcher but I don’t like the word all either. First, I want to know who financed the study. Was it Crestor or Lipitor, cholesterol lowering pharmaceutical drug companies.

A study should alert us about heart disease and how to lower the risks but not scare us to death. The study should especially educate medical professionals who overlook the warning signs of women and heart attacks.

Among 500 women who had heart attacks, unusual fatigue was the most common symptom followed by trouble sleeping, shortness of breath, indigestion, and anxiety

According to an article in the October 2006 Journal of Nutrition, if people ate an extra serving a day of vegetables, their risk of getting heart disease was reduced by 4 percent. And better yet eating an extra serving of fruit each day cuts the risk of heart disease by 7 percent

So why do we resist eating our fruits and vegetables? Please comment.

But back to how we can make these natural wonders more appetizing. I like easy and I want easy to be delicious with a lot of variety. I crave variety; the more the better.
